The brand

Accurist is a truly British success story. Starting out in London’s Clerkenwell, Asher and Rebecca Loftus set about in 1946 building what would become one of the biggest watch brands in the world.

Accurist has always married accuracy and style. It was the first watch company to actively promote the 21 jewel lever movement and in the 1960s introduced fashion watches to the UK, revelling in success as its bright, bold timepieces were worn by pop culture deities of the era including Twiggy and The Beatles.

Other milestones in the watch brand’s history, which spans more than 60 years, include the introduction of the digital quartz movement in the 1970s, being named as the official watch of Concorde pilots and providing the Royal Observatory at Greenwich with the Atomic Clock, which officially records the time for the world.
