The brand
Louis-Ulysse Chopard set up shop in watchmaker haven Sonvilier in Switzerland in 1860. His watches soon gained him widespread recognition with buyers coming from afar as Russia.
In 1920, Louis-Ulysse’s grandson Paul-André Chopard moved the company to Geneva before selling the family business in 1963 to Karl Scheufele, a descendent of a dynasty of watch and jewellery makers in Pforzheum, Germany.
Under the guidance of the Scheufele family, Chopard flourished to become one of the leading luxury watch and jewellery maisons in the world. The brand is now synonymous with luxury and glamour, has boutiques all over the globe and dresses the brightest stars. It has been the official jewellery partner of the Cannes Film Festival since 1998 and sponsors Elton John’s White Tie & Tiara Ball each year.
