The brand
Rockport started out in Massachusetts in the United States in 1971, where it is still based, founded by father and son Saul and Bruce Katz. The duo set out to fill a gap in the market for footwear that combined lightweight materials, comfort and subtle stylings.
In 1994, Rockport was bought by sports brand Reebok in the company’s first foray outside the athletic shoe arena. This partnership introduced Reebok’s athletic footwear technologies, such as DMX comfort insoles, to Rockport’s formal and walking shoes. Both Rockport and Reebok were later bought by German sports giant Adidas.
The collection
Pioneering men’s, women’s and children’s shoes that fuse advanced athletic techniques with casual footwear to create loafers, boat shoes, golf shoes, Oxfords, sandals, boots and walking shoes. Iconic in the Rockport armoury is the Pro Walker series of hard-bottomed walking shoes.
