Over to you Laura…

  • Start from your shoes

Always wear a flat shoe or sandal; it’s the most practical for picnic locations. To stay really on-trend, wear tan accessories and opt for a sandal you can tie-up or wrap around your ankle.

  • Billowy and long-dress shapes are ideal

Not only are billowy, boho-chic long dresses spot on for the huge 70s vibe this season, they are perfect too for chilling out modestly on your picnic blanket in the sunshine, English-rose style.

  • Keep accessories low-key

Keep accessories as natural and organic as possible; raffia or cotton bags that resemble or co-ordinate with a picnic basket are your best bets. There’s no need to wear or bring anything too glitzy.

  • Add a trench for a finishing touch

As we never know where we stand with the British weather, it’s a good idea to always carry a mac or trench in case it rains. Classic beige always works well with most prints and colours, so is an easy must-pack.
