5 Alternative and Refreshing Summer Drinks for the Weekend

If you’ve tried and tested some of your favourite cocktails at home, it might be time to shake up “gin o’clock” with some new summer drinks. We’ve chosen our favourite recipes that are both delicious and refreshing and take as little as five minutes to make.

From zesty martinis to refreshing mocktails, here are our top summer drinks to enjoy over the summer weekends:

Ginger Gin & Rhubarb Fizz

Preparation time: 5 minutes

60ml gin
1 tsp grated root ginger
Ice cubes
330ml sparkling rhubarb tonic

For a zingy and refreshing tipple, stir the gin and ginger together, then cover and chill for up to 24 hours until ready to serve. Strain into 2 tall glasses with the rhubarb tonic and serve over ice.

Tequila paloma cocktail

Tequila Paloma

Preparation time: 10 minutes

50ml tequila
10ml agave syrup
Ice cubes
60ml pink grapefruit juice

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice, add all the ingredients and shake for a minute or so. Strain into a glass prepared with a salted rim and top up with soda water. Optional: garnish with a wedge of grapefruit and enjoy outside.

apple and mint mocktail

Apple, Elderflower and Mint Mocktail

Preparation time: 3 minutes!

75ml elderflower cordial
1L cloudy apple juice
Handful of mint

Simply combine all the ingredients in a jug and enjoy over ice for a refreshing mocktail, suitable for the whole family!
