Update from the blogosphere #91 – Beauty box comparisons

Now LFW is over and summer is well and truly on its way out, you could understand if people were a little disheartened on the blogosphere…but they weren’t!

Instead we saw a massive influx of beauty blogs that kept us entertained, interested and wanting to try some new things out. We’ve known for a while that companies and brands are sending out beauty boxes to beauty enthusiasts who love to try new products, brands, and anything beauty related so this week we thought we’d find out what you think.

Sabrina from A Little Obsessed blogspot received her Joliebox this week and was really pleased with the goodies inside which ranged from masks and scrubs to hair ties, lipbalm and even offers and discounts. For £10 a month Sabrina was impressed with the little box of goodies and we have to admit, we love the idea of trying samples before spending big bucks on products that might not be right for our skin.

Selfridges also offered a beauty box last month as a one-off which was hugely popular, and sold too well! So much so that they had to create an alternative to give to the people that were oversold. Sian from Quite Frankly She Said blog was one of these people and she received hers last week. For £15 plus £4.95 shipping, Sian received over £100 worth of amazing products that she was well and truly ecstatic about. Take a look here to find out what she got.

There seem to be a lot of beauty boxes doing the rounds and it’s nice to see people comparing them for us. Flutter and Sparkle blog received both the Glossybox and She said beauty box this month and loved them both, from the packaging to the contents, but which was best? We’d have to agree with Flutter and Sparkle blog that we’d like everyone to receive the same contents, which unfortunately doesn’t seem to be the case for Glossybox. Although both contents were really interesting and according to Flutter and Sparkle, really good products, Glossybox had a lot of sample sachets which look more like freebies rather than actual beauty samples. It sounds like She Said Beauty box pipped Glossybox to the post in this month’s vote off. It was even cheaper at £11.95 whilst Glossybox was £12.95 plus P&P!

With so many beauty boxes on offer, it’s important to get the right one for you. Here at BrandAlley HQ, we think they’re a great idea of being savvy with your money as they allow you to try lots of different brands you may not have heard of before, whilst actually testing them out to see what suits you and your skin and hair.

If you’ve tried one before, let us know by commenting below and tell us which you tried and why you loved it.

Have a great weekend!
