5 Places to Watch the Rio Olympics in London

Ah, to go back to our school days. Days of 6 week summer holidays filled with nothing but idle days spent in the park. Days that, every four years, were filled from am to pm with The Olympics.

Now we’re in work, it’s not that easy. That’s why, when we watch the final weekend of The Rio Olympics this year, we’ll be making a bit of a ceremony of it. Here are the top five places we’ll be kicking back to watch.

Boxpark

A favourite corner of East London, Boxpark is always a good idea. And now, until Sunday 21st August, it’s even more attractive a proposal than usual. Littered with striped deck chairs, the AstroTurf beside the familiar social hub will play host to this month’s Games. Find out more.

The Brazilian Embassy

One for your Line A Day diary, it’s not everyday that the general public are allowed entrance into an embassy. A truly once in a lifetime opportunity, make sure you take advantage of an experience as unique as this. Not only will there be screenings of the greatest sporting achievements on earth, but there will also be chance to learn a little bit more about Brazil and sample food and drinks from its shores, too. Find out more.

Bluebird

If you like your astonishing displays of human achievement served with a side of champagne then head to the King’s Road, where a big screen will preside over the neatly-ironed shirts and fluffy blow-dries of this cult restaurant’s clientele. Find out more.

Beach East

The swirling red iron giant that acts as the dropped pin in London’s very own Olympic park may now be a giant slide, but the pride and wonder it represented four years ago is still very much intact. That’s why we’re delighted by the opportunity to watch this year’s offering in its venerable shadow. Kick back on East London’s very own Copacabana and allow the world’s athletes to beguile you with their extraordinary talent. Find out more.

York & Albany

Sequester yourself away in the beautiful foliage of this Camden corner with a Brazilian-themed pizza, smug in the knowledge that none of the Olympian effort taking place that day will be yours. Find out more.
