An Interview With AirCraft Home

With their innovative new Powerglide Hard Floor Cleaner launching on BrandAlley this week we thought it was high time we found out a little more about AirCraft Home and the ideas behind some of the most revolutionary cleaning products to hit the market in a very long time.

No one knows AirCraft quite like founder Guy Fridja so we grabbed 15 minutes with the man himself to talk aesthetically pleasing products, USP’s and spring cleaning tips…

Could you give us a little bit of a back story on AirCraft and how the brand was born?

After moving into my first place and doing it up, I started thinking about how home and tech products could be improved. I decided to set up a brand with innovation and creativity at its heart, and that made things like cleaning a little more fun. It feels great to have a sparklingly clean home, but it can be pretty dull getting it to look that way – and the equipment we’re using is so often uninspiring and outdated.

AirCraft launched one of the first robot vacuums in the UK 5 years ago, and we’ve seen a thirst for something new, exciting and innovative in the cleaning space ever since. We’re really excited about our new product, PowerGlide. It’s seriously fun to use, and feels like the future of how we should be cleaning our floors.

You like your products to perform well but also look aesthetically pleasing. Why is appearance so important to AirCraft?

We believe that the more attractive our products are to the eye, the more they will be used and enjoyed.

What in your eyes sets AirCraft apart from other brands? What’s your USP?

Our mission is to make home tech products that are fun to use – why does cleaning have to be boring?! It’s time to change the way we think about looking after our homes.

We’re excited to be selling the PowerGlide Hard Floor Cleaner on site. Can you tell BrandAlley customers what makes it so great?

PowerGlide is a genuine game changer. It’s finally time to say goodbye to using your mop and bucket which, let’s face it, is a pretty outdated and unpleasant method of cleaning.

PowerGlide makes it look like you’ve had the professionals in to clean your floors every time you use it, but above all it’s just a really fun product to use. We love seeing the childlike excitement in people’s eyes as they glide around their floors, spraying floor cleaner at the touch of a button, and leaving a sparkling trail behind them.

The fact that it’s cordless is important too – it really defines the way you use the product. It’s very liberating.

It’s the time of year for a big spring clean. What would be AirCraft’s top tip?

Use a drop of baby oil to polish your stainless steel. You heard it here first – and now you have an excuse to buy a bottle!

And finally what’s next for AirCraft? Any exciting plans in the pipeline you can share with us?

We’ve got lots of exciting plans at AirCraft HQ. Apart from continuing to grow in the UK and overseas, we’ve got some exciting brand partnerships in the pipeline, and have our eyes set on innovations in other parts of the home, so keep your eyes peeled!
