Why we can’t get enough of Italy

Our Italian Renaissance garden at this year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show is now underway. As a barren, muddy landscape it begins its transformation into a stunning Show garden.

With our garden having Italy at its very core, we expand on what it is that makes this country’s style and fashion so unique and desirable. Here are our top three Italian-inspired looks, brought to you by our BrandAlley team, and how you can recreate them.

Buying Director Caroline loves city chic: “For me, Italy is all about sleek, sophisticated elegance. I keep my look refined and simple by paring effortless shapes together, usually in black or grey with bold accessories. I love the way this tailored look contrasts with the more weathered and rustic charm of the Capital.”Italy Inspired 2 - The City

Assistant Merchandiser Lizzy loves the beach and the poolside: “I live a busy life so when I’m on holiday I like to slow it all down. Italians have the pace that suits me for a getaway, but still understand that we like to feel good about our appearance, so I can get away with a bit of glam whilst poolside!”Italy inspired 1 - The Beach

Marketing Executive Bonnie loves a fairy-tale villa: “I love exploring new places, so tucked away in a remote part of Italy gives me the opportunity to discover hidden gems.  I find being away from the bright, city lights and constant noise greatly effects my senses. Getting away allows me to be aware of the scents and smells that surround me so citrus and rosemary will instantly transport me back to Italy”
