Our priorities may be slightly distracted right now, but it’s still important to mark celebratory occasions such as Valentine’s Day – despite our romantic status. We may be confined to our own four walls, but there are still ways to make February 14th special, regardless whether we’re near or far from our Lockdown Love. If the day of love has slipped your mind, there’s still time to find the perfect present, so garner inspiration from our last-minute Valentine’s Day gifting ideas.

Create a Care Package

Nothing says ‘I love you’ like a selection of all their favourite things. Include things like their favourite drink, something sweet, perhaps a personalised notebook or corkscrew, and a some skincare to pamper themselves with. Pack it in a decorative box, you can even include some themed confetti for an elaborate touch.

Plan A Home Spa Day

We all know woman (or man) who never seems to be able to sit down. The most thoughtful gift? Indulging them in some well-needed R&R. Create a schedule which includes the perfect day of relaxation, from breakfast in bed; perhaps accompanied by some bubbles, to nightfall. Then? Draw a sentient bath and light some candles. After all, they deserve a day off.

Make a Photo Album

Whilst your Instagram feed may have been carefully curated with just the right aesthetic, there’s nothing quite like poring through a photo album. There’s plenty of apps which will print and post your images for you, so why not build a timeline of the relationship? If you’re sentimental you can even include momentums from past dates and tips.

Arrange A Surprise Zoom Call

There’s at least one person we’re all missing terribly right now, and a little quality time (albeit through a screen) could really go a long way. Get in contact with that person, and arrange a scheduled time they can catch up with your loved one. Set the computer up in advance, and even serve out some of their favourite snacks.

Say It With Flowers

Gifting flowers may seem uninspired, but few other presents guarantee a lifted mood. Letterbox florals from Bloom & Wild are compact and quality, or a bouquet of faux flowers, accompanied with a new vase will brighten up a room year-round.

Send Their Favourite Food

With restaurants currently closed, many of our favourite eateries are instead offering at-home kits. If you know of a particular place they prefer, you can get one of their favourite meals delivered directly to their front door. From Franco Manca to Rosa’s Thai Cafe, purchasing one of these is the next best thing to stepping through the doors of your favourite local itself.

Donate to a Charity On Their Behalf

A selfless, kind act is sure to bring a warm feeling to both yours and your loved one’s heart. Donate to a cause which holds a special sentiment to them (we all have one), and the thought and care which has gone this will mean more than any physical gift.
