Shop savvy and feel good by buying trends now that will take you through to SS14

As summer draws to an end and you start to pick up pieces for your autumn wardrobe, we’ve taken a look ahead at upcoming trends to see if we can pick up a few savvy shopping tips to take our look from current season trends, all the way through to next summer with just a few key buys.

Last year we wanted buy-now, wear-now outfits, but with a long spell of wet and wintery weather retailers were already bringing out their spring ranges and were ill-equipped to support the long cold spell. Acknowledging this issue, trends are looking tran-seasonal and we’re seeing a rise in layering opportunities. This makes it even easier to buy outfits now that we can layer up or down depending on the weather.

Here at BrandAlley HQ we’ve picked out some key pieces that are trending right now, but still set to be huge next year, keeping you one step ahead of the game without breaking the bank.

The first trend we’re going to look at is ‘New Digital Aesthetic’. This trend has taken its influence from the way we see the world around us, in an ever-growing digital environment – through computer and mobile devices to huge digital outdoor screens, we now have entirely new ways of absorbing our surroundings.

Key pieces to look out for:

1) Short sleeved Tees: Prints and colour will be an important part of this trend. Think sporty checks and geometric shapes in luxe fabrics to make this Tee work harder.

2) Pleated Cuffed Trousers: This style of trouser is incredibly versatile, offering a relaxed option in luxe fabric that can be instantly glammed up with heels.

3) Accessories: Simple, clear clutches and bangles, offering the futuristic feel in a simple bold and quirky statement.

For those who aren’t brave enough for the full trend-lead pieces, you’ll find bold and cartoon-like graphics, or oversized spots and sheer panelling that is slightly more toned down.
