Spotlight On: Cherry Red

@perrverrtt

Ok, so there’s nothing too groundbreaking about red being the shade of the season. I mean, the leaves are changing, Christmas has just left us and it’s usually around this time of year that everyone pulls out their favourite red lippy. However, the catwalks saw more of a muted, vampy array of red shades this AW23, as a (metaphorical) basket of plums, cherries & cranberries were carried through the catwalks of Hermès, Gucci and Tory Burch (to name a few!).

The cherry trend was then swiftly adopted and interpreted by influencers, sharing their style take on the hue de jour. Now, we’re consistently seeing these shades on our FYP – from cherry-red manicures to Merlot highlights, alongside deep red faux-fur coats and those to-die-for burgundy Miu Miu slingbacks.

If you’re looking to hop-on board the (again, metaphorical) cherry train, then check out the picks below. We’ve MAX&Co. skirts, Charli cashmere jumpers and more juicy styles to show off this winter.

Oliver Sweeney Tansy Boots

Make these oxblood leather boots your staples this season. If you’re going full-on Westwood-esque, team them with double denim and fishnets – or for chic & cosy with just a touch of grunge, opt for patterned tights and a chunky knit.

MAX&Co. Brigitta Skirt

A preppier take on the cherry trend, this A-line mini from MAX&Co. will take you from work to Winter Wonderland with ease. Just find the perfect pair of thigh-highs and a faux-fur coat to throw over the top. Tres chic!

Lucky Bees Cross-Body Bag

This bag from Lucky Bees has more of a purply undertone, but we still think it’s worthy of No. 3. Just picture it across a crisp white shirt dress with a pair of chunky Chelseas. A matching beret would look fabulous, too.

Charli Cathea Jumper

In the cosiest cashmere known to man (trust us, we’ve tried it) Charli’s Cathea jumper features a slouchy, effortless fit in a deep red hue. Team with your favourite dark-wash denim, a pair of Westerns and gold accessories. Christmas Day fit: sorted!

Pierre Mantoux Tights

Aaand last but not least, we have these red Pierre Mantoux tights. Granted, they’re a little on the brighter side, but we’re picturing them in a full-blown monochromatic Valentino-inspired ‘fit, alongside a cherry-red dress and matching platforms. Because, in the words of our beloved Mr Michael, if you’re gonna do it, do it right.
