Tiger Eye Hair: The New Must-Have Do

Tiger Eye Hair: The New Must-Have Do

In the history of your hair, who have you been inspired by? Jennifer Aniston’s ‘Rachel’, perhaps? Or Emma Watson’s drastic pixie crop? How about semi-precious stones?

No? Well things are about to change. Because it is a semi-precious stone that is storming the hairdressing scene this winter. The new trend – dubbed tiger eye hair – is named for the golden-hued quartz that bears markings similar to that of the beautiful big cat.

With roots (see what we did there?) in balayage – the practise of hand-painting colour into the hair – tiger eye hair, is tagging onto one of the biggest hair trends of 2016.

Tiger eye works in a similar way: borrowing from the swirling bronzes, golds and honeys in the semiprecious stone we discussed earlier, it paints and blends them into your locks.

As with balayage, the effect is kept well away from brash and stripey by the delicate and blended way that the dye is applied. The result is a richly-hued mane of subtle highlights in a warm array of colours.

If you weren’t already convinced, then note this: tiger eye quartz is famed for its ability to bring clarity, protection and confidence into the life of the wearer. Not only will you be looking fresh and fabulous, you’ll be feeling it too!

What are you waiting for? It’s the perfect companion to a cosy new season wardrobe and a good omen! Here are a few Instagram snaps to convince you even further on how to get tiger eye hair…
