Blog: 15 minutes with Bluebella CEO, Emily

As award-winning brand, Bluebella join us on sale today, we catch up with Bluebella CEO, Emily to find out more about this beautiful and exclusive lingerie sale.

It’s hard not to feel inspired and empowered after just 15 minutes with her:

How would you describe Bluebella to those new to the brand?
Bluebella is a luxurious but affordable, provocative lingerie brand.  We take high-end design and style and make it accessible and wearable.  We believe every woman should wear beautiful lingerie every day – we don’t believe in ever saving anything just for best!

Where does the inspiration for the designs come from?
From lots of places. Sometimes physical things like places I have visited, a colour I’ve seen or a beautiful fabric trim – but more often it comes from wanting to create and expand on a theme or feeling.  For Spring/Summer 2015, we’re obsessed with the illusion of nudity – being clothed yet bare, unveiling the body and barely-there fabrics.

With each piece exuding ‘playful-meets-feminine’, who can wear Bluebella?
Every woman!  We pride ourselves on creating really wearable, flattering pieces.  As long as you love a bit of luxury and feeling fabulous beneath your clothes, then Bluebella is for you.

What are the biggest changes have you noticed in female confidence and women’s power over the past decade?
I think women are taking greats leaps forward all the time.  The wave of new feminism is really inspiring and doing much good.  When I was a teenager, being a feminist was wrongly associated with all sorts of negative connotations – it was that assumed femininity and feminism couldn’t be mixed. I am delighted that things have changed, and now it’s accepted that one has nothing to do with the other and can be beautifully combined.

If you could give one piece of advice to women everywhere, what would it be?
Never be scared of failure and rejection. Put yourself forward, even if you fail, the experience will help you get closer to what you want.
