Frozen Summer Fruit Smoothie Recipe

With temperatures set to soar this weekend, what better time to be reacquainted with your blender and whip up some summer smoothies to keep you cool in the sunshine…

Smoothies are an ideal breakfast boost – especially when oats and nuts are added – and with this recipe you can get the perfect blend of refreshing goodness in only a matter minutes. This recipe works with any frozen fruit of your choice – so why not get creative in the kitchen, take a seat in the sunshine and enjoy!

Ingredients:

  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 glass frozen fruit
  • 2 heaped tablespoons natural yoghurt
  • 1 small handful oats
  • 1 small handful mixed nuts
  • 1 glass soya milk, skimmed milk or apple juice
  • honey, to taste, optional

Instructions:

Peel and slice your banana and put it into a blender with your frozen fruit and yoghurt. Whizz it up and add the oats and nuts. Add the soya milk, skimmed milk, or apple juice and whizz again, until nice and smooth. If it’s a bit too thick for you, just add a splash more milk or juice and whizz around again. Give it a good stir, then have a taste… If you think it needs a bit of extra sweetness you can add a little honey to taste — but you won’t need much.
