Struggling to Stay Positive Post Christmas?

With the days long and dark, and the fact we no longer have Christmas to look forward to, you may be starting to feel a little glum. Fear not – we’ve put together a guide on how to boost your wellbeing this winter.

What is Mindfulness?

Mindfulness means paying full attention to something, slowing down to really notice what you’re doing. It encourages us to become more aware of our thoughts and feelings, instead of being overwhelmed by them, so we’re able to manage them better.

Journaling

Grab a pen and paper and scribe until you feel content. Journaling provides an opportunity for positive self-talk and identifying negative thoughts and behaviours. This simple task helps reduces stress, boosts your wellbeing, and better understand your needs. There are various techniques you can try – reflective, gratitude, bullet journaling or simply a mind dump – explore what works for you!

Gratitude and Positive Self-Talk

Talking down on yourself is so out this 2023, from now, on we talk to ourselves like we would to our best friend. Practicing positive self-talk increases self-confidence, improves quality of life, and fosters an optimised attitude towards the future.  Be sure to express your gratitude for daily life so you can enhance an abundance of blessings and happiness.

Exercise

We all know exercise is good for us, so why do we tend to steer away from it? A part of that is because a lot of us find going to the gym tedious, and it can especially be discouraging and daunting when you go alone or you’re unsure what to do. There are so many other forms of exercise out there which could be the most beneficial for you. This year, we challenge you to find a form of exercise which you genuinely enjoy. There’s pilates, workout classes, dance workouts and many more! Exercising releases serotonin and that’s exactly what we aspire to achieve this winter.

Meditation

Meditation is a significant way to rid sad or anxious thoughts and unwanted feelings. You’re able to pay attention in the present moment and be made self-aware. There are many videos online you can use to guide you through the practice. Just 5 minutes of your day can make all the difference, become the best version of yourself.
