In days gone by it never occured to people to offer housing to sparrows. There were large numbers of them about and they would usually find place to nest. However, in recent years, the sparrow population has declined dramatically and also, as a result of the new techniques currently used in house building, it is more difficult for them to find traditional nesting places. The sparrow flat has three apartments as sparrows like living together. As well as sparrows, you can expect the tree sparrow, great tit or blue tit to visit the flat.
