5 ingenious things you should know about the Simba Hybrid

It’s simple really: Simba would love to help you sleep soundly and comfortably, so they use all the latest engineering and technology to do so. So have a read about all their unique and patented innovations; at the very least, your new scientific knowledge will impress your friends…

1. The Simba Aerocoil microspring comfort layer

These tiny cones of comfort will transform your sleep

The key to our incredible, upper comfort layer, and our pride and joy, these springs are made from super-strong titanium. So even in a micro size (they’re just 2.5cm high, with wire the width of a very thin paperclip) they can provide the comfort you need. But being so small and fine, you won’t be able to feel them. Not even when we position them at the top of your mattress.

Which is important. Because that’s exactly where your body needs them. So you’ll find up to 2000 of these ingenious springs nestling in our Hybrid mattress; their clever, conical shape means they compress inwards rather than sideways, preventing the transfer of motion to adjacent springs. The result? Tailored support for each partner, without one disturbing the other. And as they compress they gently puff air through the mattress, providing extra airflow and heat control. But we didn’t stop there. We’ve also fine-tuned them to create thirteen zones of differing resistance, to perfectly support the parts of your body that need more cushioning such as hips and shoulders.

So now you know. Small really is beautiful.

2. The fresh feel of Simbatex foam

For pitch perfect temperature control

Being too hot at night is an absolute no-no for great sleep. That’s why Simba designed their fantastic Simbatex foam; it’s an ‘open cell’ foam, which allows thirty times the airflow of memory foam (that’s almost breezy for a bed). On top of that their sleep scientists have infused it with a naturally occurring mineral called graphite; this draws heat away from your body.

And you thought foam was just, well, foam? Not in our book.

3. Six layers of engineered comfort

  • Breathable, Anti-Allergy sleep surface: A soft, knitted sleep surface (which zips off for washing) keeps your mattress fresh and cool; an inner cover protects the internal layers when the top cover is in the wash.
  • Open Cell Graphite Infused Simbatex: Designed to tackle overheating (with up to 30x the airflow of memory foam) while also layering on the comfort.
  • 2,000 titanium Aerocoil springs across 13 zones: Each spring responds individually to body pressure, minimizing transfer of movement and partner disturbance. Thirteen zones of differing resistance levels provide the extra cushioning needed by areas such as hips and shoulders.
  • CertiPUR stability layer:CertiPUR foam layer provides structure and stability between the Aerocoil® spring layer and the SupportCore base, whilst facilitating airflow.
  • No roll-off SupportCore Base: Up to 1,000 durable barrel springs provide firm support right up to the sides, preventing any dipping or rolling off and maximizing sleep space.
  • Simba ReGen base layer: Created from recycled, surplus foam. Along with the SupportCore™ base it delivers the necessary stability and support to replace our previous full foam base.

4. Simba ReGen. It’s a Foam from Foam.

For Simba, a healthier planet is as important as restful sleep. And there’s no time to waste. Literally.

We’ve used GRS certified, recycled fibres in our mattress covers, but recycling foam has always been trickier - there are only so many dog beds the world needs after all.

So we’re thrilled to have come up with Simba ReGen, our new mattress base layer. It’s made from suitable, surplus foam and turned into a high-quality product created to strict density levels; all the foam used is CertiPUR® standard so it’s free of environmental pollutants and toxic materials.

So that’s less to landfill, AND less new resources… What a win.

5. SupportCore Base

It definitely has the ‘edge’

Our innovative edge-to-edge springs are at the heart (or should we say base) of this, up to 68% less foam mattress. Up to 1000 of them work together to provide robust support right across the mattress, allowing you to sleep up to the very edges with no dipping. Made from tempered steel, these deep, barrel-shaped springs also increase breathability through the mattress and are encased in fabric to ensure they respond independently to pressure.

All that, and they can still be compressed and rolled to enable boxed delivery.

So not all great engineering is building and bridges.

Care

The top cover is removable and washable (washing instructions included). Wash at 40°C on a reduced spin cycle. Do not use chlorine bleach. Do not tumble dry, iron or dry clean.

The grey base fabric can also be cleaned with a soft, damp and clean cloth using small circular motions. Using a mattress protector could help extend the life of your mattress.
