SIMBA Hybrid® Mattress, Double
Simba knew the perfect mattress didn’t exist, so they decided to invent it. It took them 70 prototypes and the body data of 10 million sleepers, but they came up with a game-changer: the original Simba Hybrid mattress. This five-layered sleeping beauty offers gravity-defying comfort and innovative solutions to overheating, thanks to their unique titanium Aerocoil comfort layer and a whole host of other unique Simba features.
5 ingenious things you should know about the Simba Hybrid
It’s simple really: Simba would love to help you sleep soundly and comfortably, so they use all the latest engineering and technology to do so. So have a read about all their unique and patented innovations; at the very least, your new scientific knowledge will impress your friends…
1. The Simba Aerocoil microspring comfort layer
These tiny cones of comfort will transform your sleep
These are the key to Simba's incredible, upper comfort layer; they’re our pride and joy. They’re smaller and slimmer than the typical, rather tall and bulky bed spring, because they’re made from super-strong titanium; using this magic metal means even a micro size (25mm high with a thickness gauge of 0.9mm, which is the size of a very thin paperclip) gives you the support you need, but being so small and fine you won’t feel a single one.
You’ll find up to 2,500 of these ingenious springs nestling in their mattresses; each individual Aerocoil spring flexes gently in response to you and your partner’s movements, offering personalised support to each of you without disturbing the other. And as they compress and extend with you, they gently push air through the comfort layer, helping to keep you at just the right temperature.
So now you know. Small really is beautiful.
2. The fresh feel of Simbatex foam
For pitch perfect temperature control
Being too hot at night is an absolute no-no for great sleep. That’s why Simba designed their fantastic Simbatex foam; it’s an ‘open cell’ foam, which allows thirty times the airflow of memory foam (that’s almost breezy for a bed). On top of that their sleep scientists have infused it with a naturally occurring mineral called graphite; this draws heat away from your body.
And you thought foam was just, well, foam? Not in our book.
3. Five layers of engineered comfort
BREATHABLE SLEEP SURFACE: With up to 500g of super soft, hand-knitted goodness; Simba's hypoallergenic sleep surface keeps your mattress fresh and cool.
OPEN CELL GRAPHITE INFUSED SIMBATEX: Designed to tackle overheating (with up to 30x the airflow of memory foam) while also layering on the comfort.
AEROCOIL SPRING-COMFORT LAYER: Up to 2,500 conical springs work together to distribute weight whenever they feel pressure, whilst also minimising disturbance to you when your partner shifts or moves.
EDGE TO EDGE SUPPORT: Simba's Edge Lift Technology means no matter where you decide to lie on your mattress you’ll feel supported, with no rolling off or dipping at the sides.
MULTI-ZONED FOAM BASE: Simba have established five, separate support zones here to make sure the base adjusts as you move, keeping your body in perfect, sleep-inducing alignment
4. Tested & trusted CertiPUR foam
Better for you, better for your home
All the foam Simba use in their mattresses is CertiPUR recognised, meaning both the materials it contains and the emissions it releases have been independently and rigorously assessed; CertiPUR foam is verified as free from CFCs and other ozone depleting substances, and ensures lower emissions to protect indoor air quality.
In addition, you can rest easy knowing that Simba CertiPUR foam is free from added phthalates and harmful metals such as mercury or lead, and includes safe, non-toxic levels of fire retardants.
5. Engineering new ways to cut waste
For Simba, protecting the planet is as important as restful sleep.
They’ve used their expertise to reduce their use of energy and materials, and all their mattresses are 100% recyclable. To prove the point, they’re proud to tell you that any old Simba mattresses returned to them are refurbished or recycled; they never go near a landfill site. Ever.
On top of that, all Simba mattresses are made here in the UK so unlike other brands they don’t have a long journey to make it to you, and all their packaging is up to 60% recycled, from approved FSC sources, plus all their deliveries are 100% carbon neutral. They’ve even worked out that they can use any excess foam in things like carpet underlay or pet beds rather than letting it go to waste.
