- The intricate Strawberry Thief with its mischievous birds juicy berries dangling from their beaks is inspired by one of the most iconic works of the 19th century by great champion of the Arts and Crafts Movement William Morris (1834 96) who based his design on the thrushes he saw stealing strawberries from the grounds of Kelmscott Manor his Oxfordshire home.
